  • Concert of "Levant Quartet" in Anjara

     On the occasion of inauguration  of  children's library, a concert of classical music took place at Anjara, near Ajloun, on 22 February 2008. The library was established by the Polish Embassy, in the framework of the Polish Aid programme. The concert was given by  a  string quartet "Levant". Its members: Mrs. Anna Nazzal (1st violin, Poland), Mr. Nabih Boulos (2nd violin, Jordan), Mr. Fadi Hattar (cello, Jordan), Mr. Firas Hattar (viola, Jordan)  are associated with  the National Music Conservatory of Amman and  the Amman Symphony Orchestra.

    Their repertoire included the following compositions: Ludvig van Beethoven - Ode to Joy, Antonio Vivaldi - Concerto in A Minor, Camille Saint-Saens - Ave Verum Corpus, Johann Sebastian Bach - Badinerie, Georg Friedrich Händel - Chamber Suite in D Major, Gabriel Faure - Apres un Reve, Stanislaw Moniuszko - Un ballo campestre e sue conseguenze.

     The performance took place at the local Church  of Our Lady of the Mountain. It was  attended by HRH Prince Mired bin Ra'ad, Governor of Ajloun Ali Al Shara'a,  H.E. Mr. Mamdouh Zghoul, Mayor of Greater Ajloun, members of  diplomatic corps accredited in Jordan, Jordanian sponsors who contributed to the library project, some representatives of the Polish community in Jordan as well as  a large  number of Anjara inhabitants.

    The concert emphasized the importance of  the first Polish Aid project in Jordan. Furthermore, it was a promotion of arts in the governorate of Ajloun.
